Innessa’s unique style shines once again in her new single “Strange World”

The song opens with a spacious and almost sinister tone that gets you hooked from the outset.

With lush sounding vocals and interesting acoustic textures, Innessa’s new single is reminiscent of Kate Bush and Aurora with mystical folk qualities.

"I went for a walk. It was a beautiful day." - Innessa shares the story behind the song.

"The sun was shining, the sky was blue. I saw a pretty flower on the side of the path and paused for a moment to admire. I took a picture and posted it on facebook."

"Later I saw a couple of comments under the picture. One stated: “It’s a weed…”

And then there was a reply below: “One person’s flower is another person’s weed”

This made me smile and think. Oh how true. How often we argue about something that we see through our own life experience, beliefs and limitations. How often we try to prove that our truth is the one and only, wasting our energy and often hurting the relationship."

The song speaks for itself.

Is black as black as it seems?

Is white so certainly white?

Whatever argument brings

Do you always want to be right? …

Innessa continues:

"Writing this song was fun and it coincided with my weekly songwriting challenge. Back then I was a part of “I Heart Songwriting Club" and our week challenge was to write something about weeds.

“What else are we quick to repel or remove without truly knowing what they could teach us?” Francesca, the founder of the club, asked us.

This question provoked a few thoughts that turned into a song.
